My perfume advert

Here is my perfume advert i have created from Internet images and photo shop. I have made it British and used a British icon and symbols.

In my ad i included a plain simple perfume bottle, an image of a rose, an image of Kate Moss and added text from photo shop.

Originally this was a group project so not all ideas were mine but we went off onto ideas and created our own.

This is my image of Kate Moss i found on the Internet. I chose Kate Moss as she is a famous British icon and is well known for cosmetic adverts. The image is a natural looking image and she isn't wearing anything that stands out so therefore all attention will be on the perfume itself. I also chose this image because it was black and white and shows class.

Here is the original image of the perfume bottle i have chosen to use. It's simple and fits in with my idea of the bottle looking like a stalk. It was hard to find a good image of a bottle that would look glamorous and sophisticated so this was the closest i could find. As the bottle is long and thin it shows elegance and the pink/purple colour shows it's feminine.

This is the image i chose of a rose to use for my advert. Instead of a pink rose i chose a white one as this shows more elegance than a pink or red which is more common and always remind me of the older generation. Whereas white is different and more rare and beautiful.

Below is my final piece for my perfume advert. I combined all the images together with photo shop, edited and added text to get this outcome. I chose to use subtle gradient colours that didn't stand out as i wanted a calm and sophisticated look to my perfume. The grey scale image portrays this along with the grey writing which backs it up. I kept a little colour on the perfume bottle as i didn't want it to be boring and the pink shows excitement and is easy to relate to the female sex. The text i used for 'English Rose' is all curvy and joined up, this font is old fashioned style which shows vintage and class and then is backed up with the capital slogan which is simple and bold, stands out.
Unfortunately the bottle itself came out too small and had to be enlarged which made it look slightly strange and more pixalated. If i was to re-do this i would keep the same idea and change the bottle so it looked more realistic. I would also change the text on the bottle whilst keeping the same font.
Overall i like my perfume ad and i think it's powerful and makes a statement. If i were to experiment with different ideas i would use bright, bold blasts of colours to see what kind of effects it would give.

Kirsty,

The final advert looks good and is really effective. Consider in your analysis commenting on how you appealed to the target audience and your choice of shot type. Wh did you use it? What what effect were you trying to create? How does this relate to your taget audience? Also consider commenting on what you were trying to represent within the advert.
